Creating opportunities for young, independent filmmakers and fostering a lifelong love of the media arts.

What to expect at this year’s AYFF:

1) Nearly 30 films made by Central Texas middle and high schoolers.

2) *Industry Professionals offering roundtable discussions on the craft.

3) *An amazing Super 8 scavenger hunt style workshop.

4) A keynote address given by filmmaker Kat Candler (Hellion, Queen Sugar, 13 Reasons Why)

5) Time to mingle and meet other young filmmakers!

6) An awards ceremony where we’ll be giving a big ‘ol $1000 check to the Best of Fest!

Doors open at 10:30 AM for registration. The festival is at the Alamo Drafthouse Mueller location.

The Austin Youth Film Festival allows students to put their own personal touch on an event that is created specially for them.  From the design of the logo to leading the Q&A's, the festival puts students in the spotlight allowing them to make it their own and share their talents.
